Lincoln Theater is pleased to be part of FULL SPEED AHEAD – a Statewide Festival of Train Movies and Events! Join us for a special screening of “The Harvey Girls” including an introduction by Mark Griffin, film historian and biographer (A Hundred or More Hidden Things: The Life and Films of Vincente Minnelli).
This was MGM’s answer to Oklahoma!, a big Technicolor musical set in the Old West. Susan Bradley (Judy Garland) joins a group of spirited Midwestern “Harvey Girls” – waitresses who actually existed and served civility and meals along the Santa Fe Railway. …
